My Journey with MALT
 
My journey through the MALT has been an inspiration. I learn many different learning tools. They will stick with me throughout my educational career. My goal in this course as for assignments, were to give promising high school graduates a simple guide when registering for college. I decide to do the redesigns of the registration process because I think it is a very much needed tool, to help any and everyone learn to fly on their own through the process. I also choose this path because I found confusion,as well as I know other do, when it became my turn to register for college. I did not want others to get stuck like I did.

PLO 2 Demonstrates a great example of "knowledge and skills in current and emerging instructional technology" . It relates to the information in the learning outcome, because empressr allows the user to show what new technology can do when creating almost anything.

Glogster is a good example on the definition involved in the knowledge and skills of the use of that technology, because it show different creations using learning tools.
PLO 2 Demonstrate knowledge and skills in current and emerging instructional technologies in the glogster poster, as well.

 My Final MALT Project Challenges
 
(PLO 6) "Evaluating technology resources to facilitate effective assessment and evaluation" of the 7X7 rule.
My challenges were that of the 7x7 rule. After researching the rule I learned that I was putting too many words in one line and too many lines or sentences on one page. So, I know that the 7’s in the 7x7 rule mean that I am not to have no more than seven words in one line and no more than seven lines in on slide. The reason for the rule is to keep the reader’s attention and not overload their mind with too much reading.
Getting more familiar with “Media-Rich”
 After researching the term "media-rich" I uncovered a great presentation tool; empressr from (www.empressr.com). After viewing the Empressr's- rich tool set, it reminds me of PowerPoint slide show tools, with a big twist (PLO1, 2, 3, and 7). I believe I created the great design with a tool, without even knowing it. It was simple and easy to create a free account of Glogster (PLO 5, the first slide was retrieved from Google on College registration forms. The second slide was retrieved from sample pictures from my Acer laptop. The third slide was something that I created on PowerPoint Document, as I was experimenting with things to put on my Empressr creation (PLO 6 and 7). The bird you see in my empressr was created and redesigned by Bobby Mathis saved in Windows photo Gallery and used it as my avatar.
 
Design Complications & Solutions
My problem with the bird holding the flower of peace, created Bobby Mathis, was on the wall of the Glogster reflection poster in four huge blocks.  I did not realize that I should have made sure to remove the design in the background. It is very distracting. So my solution to that was that I open the box that allowed me to change the back ground image and I changed it to a solid color. Also, a problem was with my Glogster was the word “guidance” being cut off, located at the bottom portion in my thank you box to Dr. Pressey. There was a scroll bar to allow viewers to scroll up or down in order to see the entire word. My solution to that was simply making the words smaller.

After experiencing major challenges with the new media-rich tool, empressr, that involoved not being able to open the link or allow viewers to right click on the web address of my creation. After numberous trys I gave the entire world my empressr credentials so they can view it. Big mistake with the "big data" topic covered in the MALT course. Not really wanting my personal information out there like that, but I felt that much frustration that I did not care anymore. The solution to my "big data" exposure was solved when I realized that the creation wanted me to create a cover picture, which allowed me to save my work and get the web address to my viewers.Other issues were with empressr on how I could not reopen it after I saved it.  My solution was simple I saved my empress creation as one you can open in an all files type documents. Another way you can view my empress creation is to download Empress, then look at the creations and locate mine titled Understanding College Technology. I copied the web address of both below and individually went to this document and clicked the hyperlink tap above on the menu bar, then paste the web address in the address box and pressed ok (PLO 1).
                                                      Ratings of Importance as a Teacher/Tutor
Rated #1_ PLO 5- Exemplify ethical practices of technology usage. I feel this is the most important because before beginning to use learning technology, that you should have permission or using it free of charge, so you want violate any technology usage rights.
Rated #2_ Making correct decision on leaning is very important, so PLO 8- Demonstrate the ability to make informed decisions regarding the use of technology in support of learning and leadership. This PLO is the number two on the list because if it is carried out properly then the entire learning experience will not be appropriate for the learning environment.
Rated #3_As a promising tutor I believe PLO 3-Design learning opportunities that apply technology-enhanced instructional strategies to support the needs of all learners. A great example is the use of Jing.
Rated #_4 PLO 6- Evaluate technology resources t facilitate effective assessment and evaluation. I choose this to be the fourth most important in my line of profession, so students can have a guide to what the learning material required information that need to be addressed in efforts to find what the students has learning in the learning material assignment.
Rated #_5 PLO 1 to demonstrate knowledge and skills related to learning using technology. This was very important even though it is not labeled as the first one but it is important because when teaching or tutoring, knowing how to use technology helps when planning the learning material.
Rated #_ 6 PLO 2 Demonstrate knowledge and skills in current and emerging instructional technologies. This is needed when entering in the educational field of study and having the understanding of the current software and learning tools will let the employer know your ability to do the job.
Rated #_7 PLO 4 Applying research to support learning in a technology-enhanced environment. This PLO is great to have when teacher or tutors must explain why a particular tool will help the student in learning.
Rated #_8 PLO 7 Utilize technology to collect and analyze data, interpret results, and communicate findings. Even though it is last on the list does not mean it is not an important step. When there are any confusion involved in why certain data was used this PLO is needed to explain why it was being used and how it will solve any misconceptions of the data being used.
 
                                                                                Additional challenges
Challenges occurred, when choosing a specific technology to showcase my learning, because they are so many useful tools available. I found it difficult when ranking the PLOs, because some of them carried the same importance concerning that of a teacher or tutor position. I found it difficult to creative ways to display my newly learned skill sets, because I wanted to use the old and the new and that could distract the viewers.
PLO 7 Utilize technology to collect and analyze data, interpret results, and communicate findings.  This outcome is a perfect match to the MALT project done with behance media-rich tool.
